Latin Songs

This page focuses on the Latin music that crossed over globally, and much of it runs on the reggaeton beat — the dembow rhythm behind Daddy Yankee's “Gasolina,” Luis Fonsi's “Despacito” and most of Bad Bunny's catalog. Alongside them are J Balvin, KAROL G, Maluma, Nicky Jam, Myke Towers and Farruko, tracing the genre from its 2000s breakthrough to the present. Most of the lyrics here are in Spanish, with a few English-language crossovers such as Shakira's “Whenever, Wherever.”

It isn't all reggaeton. Shakira, Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglesias represent Latin pop, Marc Anthony brings salsa, Elvis Crespo merengue, Manuel Turizo bachata and Eslabon Armado regional Mexican music, while Ritchie Valens' “La Bamba” reaches back to the 1950s and Quevedo's “Columbia” adds a recent hit from Spain. Because rhythm defines so much of the feel, start from a specific song and use its page to find others with the same groove.
