How to Find Songs Similar to a Track

Step 1: Enter the song name

Type the title of a track you love into the first box. You don't need the exact spelling of every word, but the closer it is, the better the match.

Step 2: Add the artist name

Add the artist in the second box. Many songs share a title, and the artist tells us which “Creep” or “Dreams” you mean. If you leave it empty, we use the most popular song with that title.

Step 3: Get your similar song list

Press Enter to get 20 songs ranked by how closely their listeners overlap with your song's. Each result shows a match score and links to YouTube, Spotify and Amazon Music. Tap ♡ to save songs to your favorites.

Frequently Asked Questions

How SongSimilar finds similar songs, and what the results mean

Similarity comes from music listening data: when many of the people who play one song also play another, the two are rated as similar. We use the Last.fm and Deezer APIs for this, and MusicBrainz for release years. When a song has few direct matches, we fall back to similar artists and their most popular tracks.

For well-known songs they are very reliable, because the match score reflects real co-listening across a huge audience. Obscure or very new tracks have less data, so their results lean on similar artists instead. Those results are marked with an asterisk and scored 15% lower, so direct matches always rank first.

It is a relative similarity score from 0 to 100%. The top result is the song's closest neighbour, and scores further down mean a weaker connection. Compare scores within one list rather than across different songs, since popular songs simply have more listening data behind them.

Spotify Radio needs the app and an account, mixes in songs you already know, and only plays what is on Spotify. SongSimilar works in any browser with no signup, shows the whole ranked list up front with match scores, and lets you open each song on YouTube, Spotify or Amazon Music.

Yes. The similar song finder is completely free and you don't need an account to use it. The site is supported by ads and affiliate links. Favorites and recent searches are stored in your own browser; if you choose to sign in, your favorites are also saved to your account so they sync across devices.

Check the spelling and add the artist name, because many songs share a title. Very new releases, remixes and small local artists may not have enough listening data yet. If you see a message about too many searches, wait a minute and try again.

What Is a Similar Song Finder?

A similar song finder takes one track you love and returns other songs that sound like it — the same energy, a related genre, a shared era or scene. Instead of scrolling through endless playlists or waiting for an algorithm to learn your taste, you start from a single song and get a ranked list straight away.

SongSimilar builds that list from listening behaviour rather than guesswork. When large numbers of the people who play one song also play another, the two are scored as similar. That approach captures things that genre tags miss: a 1990s alternative ballad can sit right next to a recent indie track because the same listeners love both. Each result shows its match score, so you can start with the closest matches and work outward.

Use it to fill a playlist around a favourite song, find artists who sound like one you already know, or get out of the habit of playing the same 50 songs on repeat. There is nothing to install and no account to create.
